At a rehearsal break on Tuesday evening, I had the pleasure of briefly interviewing Brian Thorsett, Carrie Hennessey, and Efraín Solís, soloists for our performances of Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem. In a corridor in UC Berkeley’s music department, students practicing in the background, they each reflected on three things:
- singing with BCCO
- singing Britten’s music and the War Requiem
- a favorite part of the War Requiem
This is a quick edit of their thoughts—what a gift to have these three amazing musicians as part of our extended BCCO family.
You can hear Ming Luke talk about why he chose these three singers for our performance, and read their bios, in his musings on Our Soloists for the War Requiem.
