In early 2013, BCCO announced a contest to find a logo to commemorate its 50th Anniversary. My daughter, Melissa Miyamoto-Mills submitted the design that was ultimately chosen. Melissa’s design was inspired by the bass and treble clef symbols, the shapes of some instruments (violins and french horns in particular), the architecture of concert halls and the shape of blooming roses. See her design submittal, in the slideshow below.
Melissa earned her B.A. in architecture from Cal Berkeley in 2013. She is currently completing an M.S. in Communications Design at Pratt Institute in New York.
