BCCO officially started its 50th Anniversary celebration with a special event for chorus members, done in typical BCCO style, with a fine potluck and music. Held in Kennedy Grove in El Sobrante, the picnic honored the late Connie Reyes, a much-loved member of the alto section. Janelle led members of the Chamber Chorus in a short performance under the trees, including a beautiful rendition of Music in my Mother’s House, a favorite of Connie’s. She then got everyone singing a great assortment of rounds. Finally, Joe Liebling sat at the keyboard and led stalwarts in improvised standards. Great fun to sing outdoors. Here are a few pictures from the event, from Christian, Kristin, and Nancy Sue — we’d love to add yours to the record of this 50th anniversary Kickoff Picnic!
