In an article in the Berkeley Daily Planet about BCCO’s performance of Britten’s War Requiem, Liz Raymer said: “I sing because it gives me incredible joy.” For more than 20 years, singing with Liz Raymer brought many of us in the chorus joy. Her delight in her canine companion, Finley, rippled out to the rest of us, all the way from the alto to the soprano sections. At times serious, challenging, or questioning, Liz’s ready grin and laugh were memorable. She listened hard, making you feel special, and what you had to say important. Liz’s passing, on November 1, 2017, leaves a big hole in the BCCO community; she was a force in the alto section, on the board, and in the community.Help us gather stories, photos, and memories of Liz, in the comments below.
